Memorial Park’s infrastructure and our only school- the Tybee Island Maritime Academy (TIMA) - both face critical deadlines—aging facilities need urgent upgrades, and TIMA must secure a permanent home before its 2028 lease expires. At the same time, the City’s partnership with the Urban Land Institute (ULI) will generate expert-backed recommendations and momentum for funding. Rising demand, growing family enrollment, and the YMCA’s space constraints make this the ideal moment to consider consolidating services into a single, purpose‑built hub that meets our community’s multi‑generational needs.

Mission

Tybee Together’s mission is to create and sustain a vibrant, multigenerational community hub at Memorial Park, anchored by the YMCA, that safeguards TIMA’s home on Tybee, preserves and expands the park’s green space, celebrates island heritage, and unites residents of all ages through shared services, recreation, learning, and connection.
